yep, I got scolded for the "vague title" yesterday, anyways, it just hit my email that day, look at the date pls, we always get told they are testing new weapons (ie; XM-8) but it doesn't happen, I think the Military is finally listening to the Soldier complaints. It's a little down the road, but my eyes will be checking it out...I'll still be in the Military after 2012.

It's military.com for the dude asking the link

It's better to keep your mouth shut, and be thought an idiot, than to open it and prove it...

Dude, I will punch you in the face until you blackout! Move the *uck out!

Sadly, not quite as far fetched as you think. As part of the requirements for the Future Combat Vehicle, it must have onboard power for directed energy weapons...

But hey, at least we'll get a new carbine by 2012... yeah... right...

so after 15 years of the OICW programme that eventually morphed into the XM8 and abruptly cancelled in 2005 because the army apparently didnt need a new rifle, and now this happens?
