Does anyone know the name of the new style SA80 (L85) ? It has rails and grip and no it isnt the small carbine style one in the earlier posts of this thread.

i think it still a l85a2 just with rails and front grip.

Indeed. Its still just called the L85A2. There are 3 different kinds of L85A2 (old foregrips, new foregrips and RIS system). No matter what is bolted onto the weapon if its a full length SA80 IW with the "comma" type charging handle its an L85A2.

The old AG3: a classic.

Our troop 2IC has stated - in writing - that if someone tries to push an HK416 on him, he'll chain himself to his AG3. Everyone has a love/hate relationship to it. And, besides, there's one standing in my locker within arm's reach right now. She's called Marte and she's beautiful in a rough way.

	The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
