Default A better 6.8 bullet

I was searching on defense review and I came across this bullet, it is better than the 6.8x43 SPC bullet. It uses the 5.56 case so you can near perfectly fit it into to the 5.56 receiver(you just need a different barrel while the 6.8 requires different barrel plus different bolt), LMG chains, magazines etc. and it has a bit more more muzzle velocity than the 6.8 SPC.

from what i've seen incharts and heard people say, the 6.5x47 142 smk is a more stable round and more suited for assault rifles.

The 6.5x47 is different than the 6.5x39 Grendel. It is tough to decide as all 3(So far I see that many types still searching) alternatives 6.8(I'm combining the 6.8 spc with the 6.8 kramer), 6.5 Grendel, and SSK 6.5mm MPC. Also, the 6.5 MPC(made by SSK indrusties) and the 6.8 Kramer only require different barrels rather than different receivers(so is good costwise). The 6.5 Grendel is good with range but isn't as good as the 6.8 at close range. Although both 6.5 alternatives will make not only good assault rifle rounds, but also LMG(you have to use same rounds as assault rifles anyway to have ammunition commonality) and even Sniper/DMR(no need to have 5.56 and 7.62 DMRs anymore, just one type). Clearly I am for the 6.5 bullets, but if the U.S. military decides to choose a 6.8 round, the Kramer 6.8 will be a better choice than the 6.8 SPC.

Nice to see you on the Project Reality forums Hiber, didn't know you played PR.

dunno which size it was, but one of the 6.5 versions retained its velocity very effectivly.
and yeah, been playing pr for quite some time :}

I think it is 6.5 Grendel.

The us military wont be switching from the 5.56 any time soon, there are still many contracts to be fulfilled and new ones using the 5.56 on the way as well.
That being said I've got to take sides with the 6.8 on this one. the bigger the better even though most of the 6.8's out there dont shoot quite as flat as the 6.5's

I am well aware it will take a long time before the military starts switching bullets(if they do)

The 5.56 has some advantages. For example because it loses energy at an exponential rate it can actually be dropped on the top/backside of a hill or position. So while I am a big believer in the 6.5mm being the best thing since bread and the slicing thereof, the 5.56 is unique and does what its intended to do, which is less than I can say for a lot of new military technology.

Lose velocity? So... that defeats the whole point of the 6.5 MPC (the Multi Purpose Cartridge is designed to fit better on machine gun belts).
