Raptor and Eurofighter go head to head

There was a need for the Typhoon, as the Tornado was well past its sell by date - the problem I have with it, is its cost, how long its taken, and also bad planning of what the requirements were ( both capability and numbers )

The case for Raptor is less convincing - theres nothing at all wrong with the F-15E and Im sure theres still plenty of potential for upgrades ( not sure whats happening with the planned F-15F if anything now ) Not only that but the Raptor isnt even going to be bought in large numbers, so the case is even less convicing. Still its nice to look at and Im not paying for it

The real question is....why would allied aircraft fight? that just creates stronger nationalism between, say, NATO nations, further dividing them(not by much, by cracks in a dam aren't good)

I never dissed the Scimitar's RL version, only the one in game. And the one in game is rather pointless. In real life a fast, armoured reconasance unit makes sense. In a 2km x 2km map with a ~900m view distance filled with 125mm cannons of doom, H-AT and 100mm/30mm combos it doesn't.

Cruise missiles arent particularly effective against runways (you need cluster bombs), so Im sure the RAF pilots would still be expected to do their bit against runways, just as they did in the first Gulf War.
In the future Im sure something like a Reaper drone will be adapted for doing these kind of dangerous jobs.

The only thing that keeps me from saying that the Typhoon and Raptor are not needed/overpriced would be the nice increase in the Chinese military's budget each year. They are also known for their large air force already and with newer technology and more fighters to come there might one day be a need for a superfighter still.

The one in-game is superb, I use it over Warriors any day, as it is small and faster. I've gone a whole round with a gunner with a scimitar on that huge map. (The one with loads of tree's) You have just got to find the right place, but I'd agree with Al Kufrah it's quite useless as there are no trees to hide in and no cover from tanks except the hills./off topic

I must admit I do love the sexy design of the raptor, so it wins my vote there!
