Oh boy, aside from the risk of being shot, bombed, shredded or otherwise brutally killed, from reading these field ration description, soldiers must be really hardcore masochists to endure such treatment.

Yeah, I'd be interested to know how it rates against what the NHS budgets per patient per day for food. (Around/Under £2.50 in most NHS Trusts... and I still eat whatever's left untouched because it's cheaper to eat macaroni cheese with the nutritional value of sawdust than to nip over to the deli over the road and buy a real lunch... roll on qualification when I can finally afford to buy stuff that isn't discounted again!)

Masaq, putting things in brackets doesn't mean it's not spam :P But I do agree with Salah's comment, which means I agree with someone from CATA?? Am I ill??

But now actually OT, what would you think the average price for these is?? I mean what £30? I really dunno, if anyone could inform me, would be cool

Hehe, I just had a chili & beans MRE for lunch, it was much better than I expected.

Has anyone compared the rat packs to MREs?

Rat Packs aint designed to taste nice.

They are designed to give you enough energy to get close enough to the Queen's enemies to give them the bad news.

British squaddies consider Rat Packs superior to MREs (tho will sell their mother for the tobasco sauce).

Septics consider MREs superior to Rat Packs. Guess it's just what you're brought up on

Rat Packs can be eaten cold, IIRC MREs can't, can they? But they have their own in-pack heating mechanism, so they don't have to be eaten cold.

Still, self-heating food packs are no replacement for a good bit of hexi tv

Oh, and oatmeal block + mug of hot water + choc powder = instant morale
