Having tried just a bit of the brit 'rat packs' over here, I feel that MRE's > rat pack. Maybe its just because I'm used to the more american style food in MRE's. The new power pack mre things they came out with kick ass by the way.

i read in a book once that if you get a chillie concarni MRE meal and put it in a empy coke bottle piss in it then quickly get the lid on(it mixes uite quickly) then leave it for a few minutes it goes boom boom, apparently it works with water aswell.
I do like the current rat packs but im always up for trying something new though i do doubt cadets will be getting these rat packs as they are for the climate of the middle east or did i read it wrong. |

the flame throwing milk powder was also good...
I once heard of a brit squad in Iraq who ran out of ammo so they used the combination of a pringles tin, Coke and Chilli con carne to make mortars to clear out the enemy positions then had tea without milk and charged the enemy with flaming milk powder... |

Out of interest, anyone know how much Rat packs and MREs cost the militaries to buy? It'd be interesting to know how much it costs to feed a soldier for a day.

One of my colleagues nearly lost his eye on a public order ex when someone threw an MRE bomb at our baseline. They'd stuck it to a coke bottle, and the lid went a-flying. Took us a while to realise he went down on a no duff
Lived on rat packs for 4 months solid in a f**king hole in the desert on 3 different menus. Any time I pick up rat packs for the platoon, I wretch |
