Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
now, if they could put the ACOG system, inside the SUSAT housing, i would be interested, the newer optics in the hard, tough case.

Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
They need to come up with a more convenient mount for the ACOG than the cantilever. L85A2 isn't so pretty with that huge gap and lots of "tacticool rails".
Wonder if they could just modify the OD handguards instead of making a full RIS front end? |

Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
What is wrong with the cantilever? It's designed so that the user has proper eye relief from the optic.

Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
Cant elieve you all want it to look good instead of improves the weapon...
If you put the ACOG flush with the weapon, no one will be ale to see out the thing, plus it doesn't look that ad anyways. |

Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
it may look flimsy but if it stays on and doesn't get easily broken then I don't see a problem
If the SUSAT was better I'm sure they would of stuck with it, instead of adopting the yank sight which is presumably better |

Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
I think most soldiers would be more worried about the zero on the Acog being constantly lost on a mount like that which doesn't seem as secure as the Susat equivalent as opposed to it falling off ... although given the hilarity of L85 development nothing would suprise me

I understand what you guys mean, it just looks odd to me, not that that matters, I'm not using it. Just my thoughts on it looking funny with the huge empty gap under the sight. | |

Re: ACOG vs SUSAT
kinda hard to mess up a sight mount, then again:
"remember that you weapon was made by the lowest bidder" meaning it may be made in china. |
