Javelin locking mechanism

I have seen some videos of javelins being fired in Iraq against buildings. My question is this, does the javelin lock on to any heat signature (which could mean people as well and other vehicles other than tanks)? It wouldnt be very cool though, since i believe from what i heard on TV each javelin costs about 40 grand?

IIRC it can lock onto any heat signature sufficently different from its surroundings, as such, yes it can lock onto and track people.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I'm imagining someone running for their life, being chased by a missile with this big set of teeth on it, wait, I'm thinking of bullet bills...

Javelin uses a passive infrared day/night seeker and has a warhead over twenty times the size of that of the standard issue U.S. Army M136 (8.4 kilograms to .4 kilograms), which usually means that without any Iraqi T-72 to utterly obliterate, it's pressed into the anti-fortification role.
