Dont count on it. If something makes perfect sense or works much better than what is currently in use, the US Army wants no part of it. ACU's were scheduled to be fielded 100% just late last year and the Army has dumped way too much money into the pattern to throw it away so soon, even if it is a non-effective camo.

Expect to see Special Operations and Ranger units wearing the Crye Multicam though, because it's very important for "elite" units who execute probably less than 5% of overall operations overseas to have the latest and greatest gear.

Friend of mine who just came back from the sandbox says nobody wants to wash their uniforms, they are OK when nice and dusty but suck when clean. Every Army buddy I know hates them, and personally (as a US Marine) I think they look like crap. A buddy of mine just got promoted, for the cerimony they pulled his velcro oak leaf on and stuck his bird to the velcro, just didn't sound right. Afterwords I joked with him, pointing at his new rank I asked "is that to help the snipers aim at you" as it's right over the center of the chest. He didn't think that was too funny.

The USMC did digicamo right, one desert pattern and one woodland rather than try to make something that works everywhere. Imagine if there was suddenly a major action in Korea, the Army doesn't have a uniform for that terrain anymore.

We use Multicam in milsim events and it does work well but ACU is bad, and I own it too. It sticks out like a sore thumb. You can always see the guys in ACU's.

I dont know how it works in the sandbox but I've experienced it in many environments (Sand, rocks, weeds, brush, rivers, trees) and it doesnt work. But on the other hand Marpat works really well.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Multicam guys came out with a Digital Multicam soon.

The Army in considering using a 360 controller to control some of their robots(the bomb disposing, intel gathering kind of robot), seeing as most soldiers will know how to use it already.

well i dont know what all yall are talking about....the army has the best everything. best camo (ACU's), best weapon (M4), best body armor, best boots (no need to buy aftermarket) best underwear,assualtpacks,rucksacs,barracks,coldweath er gear,kneepads,gogles,nitevision (supervision sucks), ya...eat that and tell me how it taste.....

I find that ACU does work well in urban. I play airsoft in a couple places, somewhat works in the desert. does NOT work at all in woodland. In woodland, woodland MARPAT is #1 with tigerstripe being #2.
