How come some marines/army get the colt and some get the hk?
do you guys get to pick ? or is it just what happens to be around at the time ?

Special Force use HK416, some Marksman use HK417 ( 7.62mm + longuer barrel ), but i think they are allowed to buy it, whit they're Unit Fund, since its use the same ammo and the same magazine as M4/M16A4 families...Or they are "fielded" to some "lucky weapon tester"

Personaly if you give me the choice, ill get an HK416 whit EOTech over any weapon on the earth.

That pic is way too small to be of any use.

The USMC uses the M16A4 as it's assault rifle.

The US Army (the guys in your pic, as they are wearing ACU) use the M4.

So i'm going to shoot for, they use the Colt as the standard issue. They may be trialing the HK (I'm guessing you mean the HK416?) so only a select few would be using it but I don't know about that.

That guy on the top of hotrod's post is an HK guy(ive seen his name but i forget) somewhere in Germany. He is just wearing Marine camo to be cool

(and they are trying to sell it to the US).

That army guy was part of a trial. The US does not issue 416 or 417.

IIRC the Army trialed the HK416 in Iraq back in 2005

Me and bob already cleared it up. Top guy is not a marine(as i said) and the Army guy was part of a trial like me and bob said.
