Default MoD on the new breed of UK Armoured Vehicles

Major Tom Wood, part of the team that produced the vehicle, said:

"I don't think we, as an Army, have ever bought such an incredible piece of kit before. It packs as much power as some of our tanks!"

Interesting read.

I always thought the WMIK looked way too exposed.
Glad so the squaddies will be buttoned-up.

"The revolutionary system can also raise the seven-tonne beast by more than a metre, allowing the vehicle to clear large obstacles or its occupants to gain a better view of the field of operations"

It would be great for popping up to look over ridges - theres not much information about it on the net - is it a new design or is it based on something else?

oh yeah - omfg we need this in game

it looks freakin huge and bulky; must have a giant engine.

At first glance it looks like a saxon, but in this pic it looks quite compact :

It says the engine is a 5.9 litre Cummins ISBe Euro3. Pretty good top speed considering its 7 tons

IIRC its produced by Alvis and has been in development for quite a while in a more basic form. The trials one I saw a while back had no armour so this is just an improved model.

I think it's because of the upcoming EU ban on lead-based ammunition. Apparently, lead is not good for you if ingested, at any velocity.

And whilst I'm here, you're not a PC and Windows 7 wasn't your idea, live with it!!!

Not quite.

It's based on the SUPACAT HMT 400, and the large batches and modifications are made by DML Devonport.

Lazyness shall prevail eventually

There is rather gap in information with regards to the vehicle, but now its 'officially' deployed, one assumes there should be more some photo ops and the like.

not quite, they've been in use prior to this official deployment if accounts are to be believed, a sort of trial run if you like. I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to who was using them. Not quite speculation, but of course a little impossible to confirm, other than the one blurry image doing the rounds.
