Tanks, their sale and export.
Other than Russia, what countries lease tank designs? Or export tanks? I am wondering, because if the Russian Faction enters the game on the side against MEC (assuming that happens), it would seem weird that MEC would be using Russian tanks. (Though they're also using Russian IFV's) Also, I looked up the T90 and it seems nobody in the middle east uses them (S.A. is negotiating for a few), and Russia herself only has 1,200 of them planned to be built by 2009.

well a lot of countries export tanks. USA, Germany, France etc.
But I don't think we need to try and think about which would suite the mec well since as geze said there will be no russia vs mec maps. |

I don't really think it is that big of a deal. Just because they have been sold in the past doesn't meant they cant go to war with them in the future. We sold some of our F14's back in the day to Iran IIRC. We aren't at war with them, but then again we aren't exactly friends. They can't get parts for them, and they don't know how to maintain them so it doesn't matter anyway. But my point is just because you sell a weapon system to someone doesn't mean they can't use it against you in a conflict.

OH MY GOD
Inappropriate Post content Algeria is located in Africa and borders the Mediterranean Sea to the north and Sahara desert to the south. It's located at the NW part of the continent, east of Morocco. ![]() /geography lesson |

EG....that's just embarrassing.
Anyhow, the US sold F-14s to the Shah, who was overthrown by the current government. We liked the shah, we don't like the current government, so no more parts/planes/weapons etc. This is a special situation, so this isn't going to happen very often. But there are almost certainly countries that will be fighting against someone with their own arms in the future, there's just too much international selling not to. Russia of course already has this problem with small arms, and the US to a much lesser extent. |
