QBZ-95 three-round burst?

All I find is nothing but conflicting resources scattered across the internet about this. Some people say it does, others say it doesn't, others say that only the export variant doesn't have it, others say that only early test models had it. One of our official military advisors (Eddie to-the Baker) says that even Janes themselves are unsure and only say:

"A three-position fire-selector and safety switch is on the right side of the body just above the pistol grip; this switch is not present on some examples."

Once and for all can someone state for a fact if there is a three-round burst mode on the QBZ-95. Your help would be much appreciated and would help us in portraying the weapon as accurately as possible in future versions

This is what I could find about the gun.

Quote:
The QBZ-95 (Type 95) can be compared in it's reliability with the AK Assault Rifles. Assault Rifle features low recoil power and cold hammer forged barrel. These features provide high fire accuracy. Furthermore it executes three shot burst fire.
The QBZ-96 (Type 95) Assault Rifle

QBZ-95 can fire single shots or bursts.
Modern Firearms - QBZ-95 / Type 95 Assault Rifle

I got no idea why the link change name like that :S But if you click them you get to the right place.

Short and to the Point in terms of PR. NO, the qbz95 does not have a burst.

There is only Safety, semi, and auto. I remember saying this before but some SF or PAP units modify their weapons to have 3 round bursts but as far as I know, normal PLA troops are issued with the modified weapons.

If you look at any picture of QBZ95's selector (located back near the rifle butt), you'll see only three options.

Modern Firearms - QBZ-95 / Type 95 Assault Rifle

BTW, depending on how you translate Chinese, it is not unusual to confuse burst with automatic fire.
