[TT]engineer: Wow, camo that doesn't look like the designers took a dump on a piece of canvas and shouted "BRILLIANT!".

The EF 2000 is gonna get this in some years i read on wikipedia (german only, not on en site).
It's gonna shorten takeoff time by 20% and also add more manouverabillty to that sleek monster.

btw eurofighter will get 3d thrust vectoring, the F-22 only uses 2d vectoring meaning he can direct his thrust down or up, not also to the right or left

Life's too short to live it fast

You make an excellent point viper.

Anyhow, vectoring, as was said above, doesn't change the internals of the engines, it simply changes the output direction. So I would imagine negligible reduction in power, no increase in wear and tear.

i wouldn't believe every thing you read on wikipedia but it could well be true.

a thread of thrust vectoring cant be completed without a video of a cobra :P

YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

also, i have a question , with Thrust Vectoring , a plane can turn 180º faster ?

i mean , for example if he has a enemy plane behind , he can make the cobra and face the enemy plane to kill him?
