The XM25 is. It is basically the grenade launcher portion of the XM29 OICW made into a standalone weapon. Not much news on it but it seems to still be in development.

Most of the world not using the AK series is using the 5.56x45mm
Ah, I'm not "agreeing with his assessment just because he said so, I agree with it because he happens to be spitting the truth. I am a combat veteran as well, but I guess you think that's just my opinion. After all anyone can be an "internet soldier" right? I too have seen first hand what the 5.56mm round can and can not do.

Someone with REAL world knowledge tells you about the faults and short coming of a particular bullet, and still you choose to "trust" a report from a lab coat. That team of lab coats that prepared that report probably NEVER fired a shot in a real world situation yet they somehow seem to have the only real facts. Yeah right!

I have a phrase that seems to fit this situation. "Don't teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig."

Believe whomever you please. You certainly are free to do so. It makes no nevermind to me.

P.S. And NO, I am not calling anyone a pig!

I trust published and trustworthy sources, information from people I know well, and some of the testing. I read plenty on the topic and have discussed it various times and I have yet to come to the conclusion that it is total junk. Again for all I know any of you guys could be cannibals somewhere in Uguanda.

As far i know, Soldier are trained to shoot in single fire mode, they have Support weapons as the M249SAW ( C9 ) for suppress fire, Full auto is a waste of ammunition, and IRL they dont have supply box command, so they have to keep them as possible, cause you can have more than one firefight before you can resupply.

and M16A4 is a good weapons, pretty accurate and powerfull, and all parts of it is compatible whit the M4, even the mods on.

IMO many pepole forgot logistic and army view....have the endest weapons is not a priority for Inf. Have weapons 100% reliable and 100% compatible whit the main weapons -> M4, so you can repair it by you're own on battlefield ( just take an other M16, change broken part and lets go...)

BTW they must respect NATO STANMAG and round, its not there whitout reason, all soldier on field are using same mag and round so every one can take supply from each others.

Lol... Could you pass me the A1 steak sauce?

How do you know those reports are "trustworthy"? What proof do you have that shows that THEY aren't the cannibals somewhere in Uguanda?

No seriously pass the A1 sauce please

5.56 has some advantages - like having little recoil, wounding instead of killing, a living enemy gives more information then scattered brains on the wall but thats army fighting doctrine.

Few days ago I had a "bonus" and shot a AK-47 that they had in my base's armory, it had considerably more recoil then my M16A1 Mekotzrar.

"Don't let it end like this. Tell'em I have said something."

Ah, I'm not trying to be a smartass here... But, it's not my job as an infantryman to worry about brains on walls. Or whether or not some enemy combatant returns home to mommy.
My mission as an infantryman is to help my enemy die for HIS country! If I don't have the right weapon that does the job in an effective and quick manner then I'm falling short in completing my mission in a timely manner. And that is a No Go at this station.

No version of the STS has ever been equipped with weaponry. Therefore, you are lying. Unlike Kenwayy, who, in contrast to your supposed 'buddy' and some government reports, has seen the real deal.

So please, for the sake of all of us Stryker, put your ignorant attitude away, get your head out of your rear end, and admit you are wrong and go on your way. The current 5.56 round fired by the M4, M4A1, M16A2 and M16A4 is shit. End of story.
