Back on topic please chaps.
you want to hurl abuse at each other do it via PM, thanks. now back to the serious business of discussing the fulfilment of the messianic prophecy and drowning the oppressors in a sea of their own blood. I mean... er... invisible tanks. |

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

i think you're missing the point betterdeadthanred the main point here is that its invisibility, not the fact that it is a tank. And yes it wouldnt be that great on a tank, you would really want something that could come out of stealth to unleash unstoppable damage and then fade back to stealth. so this wouldnt need armor, only lots of big guns/rockets/missiles/lasers/watever else you want.

not really, stealth is good for a surprise... but that tank is still pumping out thermal energy, plus these things won't be so invisible that they can never been seen

"What do you feel when you shoot an Arab Terrorist?" The Marine shrugged and replied , "A slight recoil." |

Sure, the best weapon is the one you never have to use but in my opinion, it's a bit of a trade off between the overall efficiency of the weapon and your diplomatic advantage.

I could only see invisible technology really benefiting the troops on the ground. Theres just too many damn ways to detect something as big as a tank.

Although I have never seen this technology first hand, I would imagine that it wouldn't be that effective if somebody is waiting for you to drive down their street so they can ambush you. Considering 1) noise from the tank, 2) the visible distortion it would create (you can't make a picture match up perfectly with the background from all angles, just not possible with current technology), and 3) tanks rarely go through streets alone. This gives me the impression that this is more of a cold war style conventional forces style technology that would be at home in the Fulda Gap rather than in your local Asscrackastan.

Reality is what we take to be true. What we take to be true is what we believe. What we believe is based upon our perceptions. What we perceive depends upon what we look for. What we look for depends on what we think. What we think depends on what we perceive. What we perceive determines what we believe. What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality.
