the shoulder pads and collar are used fro people on top cover on vehicals on patrol they are taken off for foot patrols, the reason there are no woodland covers are because we have no nee dto fight in woodland areas and its heavy and bulky but its saved my life in iraq the plates are that think you could stop a freight train by standing infont of it.

Looks like pretty decent kit to me, especially the newer versions that are supposedly improved. And, in any case, if I was to be deployed to a warzone where I could be taking incoming any second, I'd prefer to be wrapped in Kevlar up to my ears if I had the chance. I suppose the lack of comfort when wearing them is better than the lack of comfort - and possibly survival - when shot. And, besides, they can be customised to suit your needs better.

while we're talking about bodyarmor (and not just british), what has been the popular response to stuff like the interceptor and osprey? i was reading on the sights that alot of marines dont like the utility of the osprey, having to use zipties and what not to keep stuff attached, so is this kinda the same idea as the Intercepter armor the US military uses?

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

i was just kinda wondering like what the popular consenus was about modern body armor. I know you wear it because it can protect you.. but do most soldiers wish to wear a different type of body armor? maybe a 3rd party? or is the military issued pretty suffiecient?
