Helmets

I was just wondering what the reasoning behind the differences between the american and british helmets is?

p.s. apologies if this has been asked (i searched) /is deemed so pedantic that you'd prefer to boil yourself in a vat of nitric acid rather than answer- i'm just curious

I've wondered that too. I can answer why Japanese helmets differ, but not any others.

Japanese Type 88:

Now having tried on a replica American M88 helmet, whilst shouldering a replica of a Japanese rifle, I found the "ear protectors" (as I call them), would hit the stock, and push the brim of the helmet down, blocking my view. The Type 88's "ear protectors" are much more low profile. Now having a replica Type 88, the "ear protectors" don't bump into anything.

The Type 88 is also more rounded, as opposed to the M88's oblong shape.

well not to be nasty or anything...but the american helmets looks like the head of a weiner and the britis helmet looks like a dome

I much prefer the Para Helmet over the standard MK6 (British helmet)

Oh yeah, I think so. It's way too small to be on that gun for real.

No, there's a soldier armed with an SA80 behind the soldier pictured. You can clearly see the top of an SA80 forearm.

So their is VERY well spotted their mate the holes in the SA80s hand guard look like a pictany rail on the Minimi.
