Yeah, Rocket Propelled Grenade is just the english name for it,which happens to have the same first letters of the words. The russian name for it is:
Rutschnoj Protivotankovy Granatomiot (or close to that)
In english it does roughly mean:"Handheld Anti-tank Grenadelauncher"

I remember a video where they tested a RPG on a simple Van with dummys.

It's pruduces only two little holes to the left and right of the vehicle without any harm to the dummys that wasn't between that holes.
