Not exactly technology: Enlistmen Q

I've always wondered, what if someone wants to enlist, but isn't exactly a natural athlete? Are there like distance running tests and stuff you need to pass to join the USMC, or is gaining that ability part of boot camp, or even some sort of pre-boot camp thing?

You should be able to find the PT requirements online but your recruiter can also give you the info about the qualifications.
And, we have more than a few people headed to the USMC so if you wait I'm sure someone here knows the details.

That's from MCO P6100.12

New recruits have slightly more lax requirements, IIRC.

Go to your local recruiter and ask them if it's OK for you to train with the DEPs...

Don't let them talk you into signing anything at all. It's not required.

Eat up all of their recruitment info, so they know you're interested and not just there for what is essentially a free personal trainer session.

The office by me let me join their morning and evening workouts for a year before I stopped going voluntarily.

It WILL hurt, you WILL puke, and you WILL change physically. But so long as you are motivated, they will keep pushing you.
