Cant you just use the bolt release catch once a fresh mag is put on the weapon , if the weapon is in a state of no rounds in the camber and no rounds in mag with the working parts to the rear? Slap on the new mag use the bolt release catch and the working parts on there way forward it will take the top round of the mag and feed it in the chamber and make the weapon ready?
Am taking the drills off another weapon and do not know of the M16A4 has a bolt release catch etc So i look forward to being enlighten |

Scot,
You're exactly right. This is what I was trying to get at in my previous post. The simplest way to reload a M-16/M-4 series rifle is to fire off the last round in the magazine. The bolt-carrier will lock to the rear leaving an open chamber. Insert a new magazine, then slap the bolt-release on the left side of the mag-well, and resume firing. An operator can also push in on the forward assist on the right side, behind the ejection port to ensure that the first round is seated, if there are problems properly seating rounds, but this is usually not necessary with a newer rifles. Additionally, an operator can pull and release the charging handle, but this is not the most effective way to reload during an actual engagement, in my opinion, because it requires a soldier to both reacquire a proper grip with his forward hand, and to reacquire a proper stock-weld to his shoulder. v0.7, along with scoped grenadier rifles for all factions.

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I was told there were some rather minor internal changes in the M16A4 along with the addition of the top M1913 rail. Is the Knight's Armament Company M5 RAS standard on all M16A4s now? I can never find any good pictures of the rifle.

Yup, the handguard rail system is standard on the M16a4 and M4a1.

Nice photos. Thanks.
I have seen the designation M4E2 used a few times. Do you know anything about that? |

Well, I'm not sure about M4E2, bu the M4A2/3 seems to be a proprietary Bushmaster design.
