those aren't iron sights, they are the hinges for the flip-up lense caps...

Maybe, but I don't think the lack of iron sights is an 'unsrmoutable' problem ... you could just have them under the scope, so if that breaks you pull it off, and hey prest, iron sights.

I would be more concerned about magazine capacity.

Wouldn't be too hard to get high capacity magazines or drums made for this weapon...

yeah, uglier i think though, looks like a bunch of pieces that didnt fit were smashed together... but apparently with fairly good results.
