No recoil, no jam, no flash 50 cal at 120000 rounds per minute

So at what point do you as a ground pounder when facing this? Say f*ck it and stay home? Even if I was threatened with jail time it would be hard to get me to step out and face such things. Future warfare will be Stalingrad all over with your side pointing guns at your back telling you to charge in to sure death or take one in the back. |

Can anyone even show a real photo of it?
Also do you know what happens when a damaged high speed centrifuge is fired up? They disintegrate spraying the surroundings with shrapnel. |

that thing would need to spin so fast, that it probably would rip out of its holding - apart from the fact, that it would be very difficult to shot straightforward and so on and on and on - as i said, i could tell you a couple of reasons why this wouldnt work, i am just not in the condition right now to do so edit: best proof that this wont work is, that i´ve seen that thing about 4 years ago and it still is only a drawing...

In the Army we have ways of calculating if we can counter something. Usually its a ratio or a numbers game. However, in most cases its common sense. In the case where you'd be up against a crew served HMG you'd need a large number of troops to complete the objective. A squad, or even platoon might not go against this, especially a .50 that can dish out some serious lead.

While I agree with the post about this being on paper only the general idea of having weapons with massive ROF (Lead-storm or whatever it's name is), very low recoil or compensated so that you have a very high accuracy and toss in a computer system to increase response time to threats. Where does the footman fit in to this picture except being the meat in the grinder?
While more technology endowed nations can create counter tactics what about the others? Then the dictum of Might makes Right becomes the calling card which really places those nations in the same league as all the other Fascist nations who have held those beliefs. Just how (with this tech) the disparity is so great as to have no Noble sense left (if you believe conflicts can have Nobility). Not wanting to take this in a political direction at all. Just want to stir thought about where such tech is going to take war/conflict and how will traditional values associated with war/conflict fair in this light. Like how can you as a warrior who holds this tech see yourself as brave as you will never see your enemy except through the screen of a control panel. I have already pointed out how a fighter against such things would feel. |

There are only two options for our future.
1) We kiss and make-up 2) We all say F**K IT!! And start sprayin an prayin. The only thing that will be used in the future is the Corner Shot gun. Thank you Israiel. |

There have been several new weapon systems using caseless rounds and the like (G11 anyone). The fact is, for a modern army, it all comes back to the cost. Which is why everyone sill uses the same centre-fire cases that they were using in 1914.
