4195: The Final F-22 Raptor

It seems that the final F-22 Raptor nr. 4195 roled out.
Is it sad? I dont think so. I love the Raptor. But right now the US just dont have the need for these aircrafts in huge numbers i think. But if that changes in the near future i believe the Raptor factory's will be start up again.

The rails are in the inside, all six of them, and they mount much meaner hardware than some mere optics.

TBH its far more likely that more F-35As will get built, rather than F-22s since the unit cost for a start is a lot cheaper, to start up a factory again to making what is now an old design (which is only getting older) would be large in itself and while yes, the F-22 is a more capable aircraft in the air superiority role, the F-35A is a better all rounded aircraft that can effectively deliver on pretty much every task that needs to be done.

But a large war will need to brake out first before they consider building many more aircraft than planned of either the JSF or F-22.

All too true. However i hope such a war never breaks out. The F-35 is a well rounded Multi-role fighter but if it ever comes up against Mig-35, latest flanker and the Pak-50... It's truely boned. The F-35 is a dog when it comes to its mobility in the air. From what i've heard, almost as bad as the F-4 Phantom.

An obscene waste of money. Fortunately there was some sense left in Pentagon.

Hopefully the f 35 is scrapped as well.

So are nuclear bombs if we are only talking in terms of how much they are used and totally ignoring there deterrence value which is pretty much priceless.

And ye, scrap the F-35 program and have the Navy and Marines not having any jets to replace their ageing current ones leaving them with no operational aircraft and the US AF with a few F-22s while China builds their J-20 etc...
