Swizerland/Swiss Army/"Minenwerferkanonier"*
*"Minenwerferkanonier" is Heavy Infantry whit the little Artillary thing (the Support class in Desert Combat has it), i dont know how it is called in english. We call it "Minenwerfer". After 15 weeks of Recruit-School in 2001, i serve 3 weeks every year. |

I was a very bad Territorial Army (British Army reserves) soldier in the Royal Logistics Corps. Often the one at the back, red faced and puffed out...
Currently considering re-enlisting in the RAMC before I get too old... |

I was a soldier, those days are over for me now. I was in the US Army for seven years as a 19D Cavalry Scout, I got out as an E5 Sergeant. I spent my time on M113's and ITV's in Germany from '89 until just before Desert Storm when we migrated over to HMMWV's. We didn't get deployed, we stayed back and made sure things didn't get out of hand in Germany... so I never saw combat. I also spent time working in a Brigade HQ company in 1st Cav, a definite change of pace... I would have gladly been back in a Scout Platoon rather than going to the field with that circus! Talk about stress & sleepless nights! I got back into a Scout Platoon in an Armor Battalion and felt at home again. I wanted to make a career out of it, for a while anyways... tried to do anything new, anything, and got nowhere. That was enough for me, so I got out long before GulfWarII started and got me some education. I still miss it sometimes, I think anyone who has been in the military will tell you the same regardless of how they felt about their time in the service overall. Now I enjoy the memories and live it through pixels!
