Georgian assault began at morning and Russian tanks entered late afternoon, so where's logic? And those russian bombardments of crowded areas - just no comments.

Maybe he's just a very nice guy who love America and American values, but I think it's a big fat provocation to make "...Marines to kick Russias ass out of there".

I don't think its a provocation.
If a part of your country was "unenterable" would it be acceptable to you?its Georgian soil - not Russian, take a look at the map, it is no excuse for Russia to shove its tanks in to Georgia's internal affairs.

So Russia can't respect Georgia's desire to become like America?Join the "West"??does it hurt your national pride that your neighbors are defecting to the West or what?I seriously don't understand what your mumbling about American Values and what it has to do with this conflict.
You can calm down with the Marines smashing doors in Moscow and grabbing Putin, won't happen anytime soon specially since US is already in Iraq, Afghanistan, hopefully Iran soon enough and is already at "Election" time.

I sent two of my pilots to the nation of Georgia on July 14th to train with thier army for "Immediate Response 2008" Makes you wonder sometimes what the army knows and doesnt tell even us in the thick of it on a daily basis, really pisses me off sometimes....
I somehow bet there was an Immediate Response 2007, and 2006 prior to 2008?

Why is he talking about America, like we are supposed to help everyone when it isn't our business. Freedom isn't something we produce and export.

I think everyone will point at Iraq when you say that.

I've been sitting here watching CNN and MSNBC trying to get some more info on this and the only thing I can get about Osetia is on the internet.

I hate our news...

Bad situation. Hope that the civilian casualties wont increase.

After all that place has been through over time it simply deserves peace. Lasting peace!

Anybody knows where to find a map with expected and present forces in the area? And if possible, assumed deployment of the same as well?

No, you remember WMDs? Yea, no one was talking about freedom for Iraqis, but freedom from being the victims of a "mushroom cloud".

We don't export freedom, the US govt does not care about people and their freedom, unless you want to buy it from us.

Don't turn this in to a American policy on war topic, until it becomes that IRL chaps.

I have to agree with DeePsix, not only is the news few and far between, being reported as secondary news to how pretty the fireworks were at the olympics (at least as far as the BBC is concerned, CNN is doing better imo, providing vids of interviews and statements etc)

There doesnt seem to be any correspondents on the ground?

Please read previous posts about peacekeeping mission in South Osetia.

My mumbling? I thought those were words from Saakashvili's mouth.

Yeah but then once we didnt find the WMDs one of the major reasons sited for entering Iraq was to "liberate Iraq from tyranny".
