Crazy combat footage from Iraq

This is somewhat short but its pretty intense. Army soldiers in Sadr City are trying to put up concrete walls UNDER FIRE. An MSNBC embedded reporter was with them to catch it on film check it out:

By the way, the more I see ACU camo the more I fall in love with it. Not as much as MARPAT, but still awesome.

known in-game as BOOMSNAPP

That doesn't look like a big firefight to me.
It looks dangerous but it seems like the infantry is putting down such a level of fire that there is not a lot of aimed fire being returned at them.
He apparently didn't have the camera on when the Molotov's and RPG's were coming in but I just wonder how much they exaggerate with short clips like that.

But it is interesting to watch the next clip, about the reporter who was IED'ed and lived.
It is long but at the end of it, you see her dancing with words to come out with the truth that things are working in Iraq, it is not a quagmire.

I am really glad to see that her book may be helping vets deal with the PTSD issue and I hope more people are able to open up about their experiences and change the way mental health and combat are looked at so we can fully treat our returning vets with the respect and dignity they deserve.

Well i don't think they can get fire fights like in black hawk down or something because it would just be to dangerous to get footage of that.

I've seen that before and it really gives you an idea of how much it would truly suck to be an insurgent.
You can barely see and all of the enemy is pointing right at you, clear as day.
You move and 500 rounds come your way with more to come if you are seen or even suspected.
But that video was intense as far as outgoing rounds go, but it did not look like they took any return fire.
With obvious reason.

Not a huge firefight it seems, but still. I don't want to climb that ladder. Poor guy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the wall building operation was dangerous and they probably did take quite a bit of fire over 5 hours, but the shots we saw it looked like a lot of outgoing suppressive fire.
Still, it has to be a gut squeezer to stick you head up there, time after time.

The reporter is sensationalist rather than objective,

the bradley fired so much, that canon smoke filled the air
...its a cannon ofc it did...

Ross Kemp in Afghanistan had less of that kind of stuff, at least in the actual combat scenes.

The ladder dude was indeed very brave

I agree - all it seemed to show was them shooting up the town randomly - especially the last few scenes - the news anchor " couldnt get enough of that" :/
Near the beginning when they are building the wall, they seem to be crouching in the open to return fire - unlikely I feel if they were under heavy fire - and the guy on the ladder actually seemed to have the most cover!
