The Marine Corps said Wednesday it was expelling one Marine and disciplining another for their roles in a video showing a Marine throwing a puppy off a cliff while on patrol in Iraq.......
Lance Cpl. David Motari, assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment at Kaneohe Bay, is "being processed for separation" from the Marine Corps, the Marine Corps said in a news release. He also received unspecified "non-judicial punishment."

It wasn't a fake, or dead, like I said months ago. Seems the Core takes it seriously.

"Other non-judicial punishment"... someone took them out back and beat the crap out of them? Amazing how more fuss was made over a single flying puppy than troops getting killed virtually daily.

You have a point but you cant deny the stupidity of that Marine doing that and then posting it on Youtube. We are trying to win favor over civilians world-wide, not portray our selves as heartless barbarians. That Marine did a stupid thing and made the Marine Corps look bad, which is never good. So for me, and i'd bet Marine officials too, its not about the puppy but about how this Marine handled himself while in uniform.

I think he deserves to be punished for sure.

Oh absolutely, the guy was a first class no-brain (being polite about it), and has singlehandedly managed to further reduce the public perception of the US military below whatever already reduced level it was already at.

My point was that the fury over this comes close the media attention given to Haditha, for example, and right now commentators will be focused on the puppy thing instead of further questioning why troops are being shot at in foreign places instead of being with their families.

Hm they seem to care more about a single stupid puppy than the innocent Iraqi civilians being killed there every day. What a wonderful world
