I dont want to derail the thread but I don't think its got anyhing to do with absence of health insurance. You lose your job because your sick too bad for too long... you lose your insurance. Try to pay it yourself directly... cost of insurance is crazy high... so without a job your forked anyway. I presume thats why of the 50% of personal bankruptcies that had medical debt as a contributing factor 75% of them started out with some form of medical insurance.

What really annoyed me in the video clip you posted was mocking the US Vs European unemployment rate. I don't doubt that the unemployment rate in the US is lower than Europe, the minimum wage is way lower in the US, it makes perfect sense for it to work that way. At the moment business interests in the US are bitching about the minimum wage being raised federally and saying that doing so will cause unemployment to rise. Proponents of the wage hike say that unemployment will NOT rise.

I actually take the side of big business in this, unemployment probably will rise because of the wage hike. Its just logical that the more a society accepts the idea of a 'working poor' the less people will be out of a job within it. But I suppose to be really brutal about it you could say a society based on pure slavery would never have any unemployment at all.

Global warming - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To sum up, mankind is obviously responsible for the increase of the temperature worldwide. I can't understand people arguing the current global warming is natural.

ummm
Did you read anything in the thread ?
Most of the data in the WIki article has been disputed or disproven.

The reason many of us doubt the human component is because the data behind it is often spurious at best.

Of course, I haven't looked at the Vostok ice core samples myself, but a little bird told me that the data was, to use a Clintonian area term, materially misrepresented.

And totally off topic, can anyone tell me why I can't get the spell check to load ?

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concludes "most of the observed increase in globally averaged temperatures since the mid-twentieth century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic (man-made) greenhouse gas concentrations" via an enhanced greenhouse effect. Natural phenomena such as solar variation combined with volcanoes probably had a small warming effect from pre-industrial times to 1950 and a small cooling effect from 1950 onward.

These basic conclusions have been endorsed by at least thirty scientific societies and academies of science, including all of the national academies of science of the major industrialized countries. While individual scientists have voiced disagreement with some findings of the IPCC, the overwhelming majority of scientists working on climate change agree with the IPCC's main conclusions.
That's enough for me.

I was trained from early childhood to never trust anything created or produced by a commitee.

In addition, when I read things like :

Christopher Monckton, who once advised Margaret Thatcher, demonstrates via 30 equations that computer models used by the UN’s climate panel (IPCC) were pre-programmed with overstated values for the three variables whose product is “climate sensitivity” (temperature increase in response to greenhouse-gas increase), resulting in a 500-2000% overstatement of CO2’s effect on temperature in the IPCC’s latest climate assessment report, published in 2007.

Global Warming Science and Public Policy - Proved: There is No Climate Crisis

I begin to think about how much money and prestige is on the line and of how many things I have read about in history that have been royally paddy-knackerd because of people protecting their presitge and/or making money, and I come to the conclusion that we are NOT the primary cause in global warming.

Obviously

although they would earn much more money shutting their mouth and running oil companies wouldn't they? or its a doubbleplay where the oil companies pay people to overstate the climate problem to then pay more people to debunk them.

I can admit i bought in to the whole climate issue thing until i read that our entire solarsystem is actually heating up, this fact is often not brought up by GW supporters for obvious reasons. I still think we should release less pollutants into the air for our own health but its just not as urgent as we are told.

Cristopher Monckton is everything but a scientific.
I don't think he can make plausible hypothesis with his self-taught science on a highly advanced subject.
As Gavin Schmidt stated: Monckton's analysis of climate sensitivity is "sleight-of-hand to fool the unwary".
Anyway, since the USA _a modern and developed country_ hasn't ratified the Kyoto protocol, it's understable that lots of American scientists (and self-named scientists) are funded by polluting firms in order to argue that man has nothing to do with the global warming.

OK
So it is the steadfast and true scientists who are telling us CO2 is the danger and it is evil, corrupt scientists that are saying it is not just CO2 ?

Too simple for me.

I have a bias though, I think Gore is dangerous windbag and since he got a Nobel Peace Prize for a movie, I will also tend to be biased about the judgement of people involved with him.
