a possible Obama-Clinton ticket?

well, it's official: Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee for President. But should he choose Hillary Clinton as his running mate?

Pretty...pretty badass.

I see no reason for him not to choose Hillary.

What other government has such a troublesome nomination process?

Well the american process is in category of its own. Its such MASSIVE SHOW, a sort of beaty pageant for the rich elite comes to mind really.

Dont care much about which one they pick in november, both seem equally hopeless.

I sure wouldnt take that witch anywhere with me.

It seems that the most positive outcome would result from reforming the federal government as a whole, but that's just another can of worms. To be honest, the one we just opened is big enough already...

I can see the advantage of Obama taking Hillary as his Vice-President as it would unit the party, but I don't think he'd make that choice. Taking into account the drama created between the two campaigns it would be hard to really make the two run under the same banner, especially considering how awkward it would be to have the Clintons (especially Bill) running around your whitehouse. Realistically Obama could get more done with Clinton still in the Senate rather than the pretty much do-nothing job of Vice President.

I think Obama has better choices including:

Sen. Jim Webb (from Virginia and former Marine with two purple hearts that would assist him with the southern vote)
Sen. Joe Biden
Sen. Chuck Hagel (rumored to be Obama's choice for Secretary of Defense)
Gen. Wesley Clark
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (of Kansas)
Gov. Bill Richardson (of New Mexico)
Gov. Ted Strickland (of
Colin Powell is rumored to be interested

My money is on Hagel or Webb

Richardson for the SW Vote,
Biden for the experience,
Powell for the conservatives,
Clark for MilExperience,
Webb for S + MilExperience

I'd say Webb or Powell if he's interested. Also wouldnt mind seeing Wexler, but he's pretty young. Frankly, Clinton really doesnt bring a lot. People who strongly supported her are hardcore democrats, meaning they'll eventually vote for Obama even if they dont like it.

i can see how having clinton for VP would likely be a shoe in but im terribly afraid she would never shut up and let Obama be president... unfortunately she thinks her poop doesnt stink but would be willing to kill babies to get back to the oval office..

powell would be great.. despite being sucked into serving with the second bush dictatorship he has always struck me as incredibly noble and a fairly straight talker (when allowed to tell the truth)

all I can say is if mccain gets by the american public im going to start building the wall across canada to shut ourselves off from the fallout...hehehe

Yea, I agree on Webb, but he isn't as well known as Hilliary even though he is known. I think the best thing to do would be to get Hilliary as Vice President just to win the election, then have Webb as Secretary of Defense since he was in the military and his military experience rivals that, if not better than McCain's, making McCain's whole military platform go down the tubes. Maybe have Joe Biden as Secretary as State as well since he knows about foreign policy and serves on the foreign relations committee. I think that would be a landslide if he chose those people.

Re: a possible Obama-Clinton ticket?

Barack Obama has secured the Democratic Party's nomination. This is the first time that a candidate of color in the Western world has been nominated by a major political party.

I think that making Hillary the VP would be to much of a liability to his leadership and nominating another woman would upset the hardcore Hillary voters. Rumor has it that as a political gesture, Obama will offer the VP to Hillary as long as she agrees to decline. I hope that Obama goes for a strong former military serviceman to accent his leadership skills and counter McCain effectively.

In either case, this is an election for the History Books.
