That was competent ?
The sex trade that goes on under their noses ?
The UNIFIL in Lebanon...you call that competent and potent ?
I'm sure out of the billions they spend there is a lot of good done, but then there are the billions they waste and the millions they steal so on the balance I am not impressed by the UN.
But I forgot, since I haven't done the work myself, I am not entitled to an opinion........well maybe in your world that is true but here in the Good Ole U S of A I have the right to speak my mind and hold an opinion even if you don't approve.
The real culprit here is the leaders of that nation and I would think depriving their citizens of the basic needs of life would constitute some sort of war crime.
If that is true, what will this wonderful world body do ?
Perhaps they can hold a conference and determine that the suffering in Myanmar is the result of illegal land grabs by the Israelis.
When you look at the difference between how China is handling their disaster and how it will make them a more cohesive country and the horror that must be going on inside Myanmar it is just heart rending.
China will come back from their loss a better country while Myanmar will likely fall into civil war in the next year or so because of the leaders decisions to withhold and delay aid.
If ever there was a country that need to have a regime change it is that one.

On topic please, we were discussing the condoms, not UN policy mistakes since its creation.
On the distribution of AID, the UN does good work.
You can have your own opinion, I just think you are attacking the UN aid strategy with no tangible information backup. So stop digressing and incorrectly assuming ur rights are under fire.
I never said money wasn't wasted, all organisations have money black holes somewhere, but I think this project is a worthwhile investment for the aforementioned reasons of STD and birth control in a crisis that wouldn't be helped
at this time by either babies or disease.
I agree with your assessment of the differences between the response of China and Myanmar, however from watching various aid agency reps talking on the news, like MSF, they are giving the impression that the Myanmese govt simply had no clue what to do<- But I have no idea if that is true or not.
But you are right that each hour wasted cost lives.
