The tip of the iceberg

A new tell-all book.
I doubt you will hear much about it in the mainstream though.

The picture Feith paints is at considerable variance from the narratives with which we've become familiar.

One such narrative is, "Bush lied; people died." The claim is that "neocons," including Feith, politicized intelligence to show that Saddam Hussein's regime had weapons of mass destruction. Not so, as the Senate Intelligence Committee and the Silberman-Robb Commission have concluded already. Every intelligence agency believed Saddam had weapons of mass destruction, and the post-invasion Duelfer report concluded that he maintained the capability to produce them on short notice. There was abundant evidence of contacts between Saddam's regime and al-Qaida and other terrorist groups. Given Saddam's hostility to the United States and his stonewalling of the United Nations, American leaders had every reason to believe he posed a grave threat. Removing him removed that threat.

But still in the end, even with slam dunk intelligence, no WMDs and no proof of production capability that wasn't already accounted for.

Oh well, everyone gets to milk a book deal.

A tell all book or a "cover my ass and play stupid book?" Sorry I do not trust feith one bit. Also this "Silberman/Robb" commission is very dubious to me. These 2 do not look very trust worthy to me. Image:WMD intelligence commission.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here's what 2 military men said about Feith:

Quote:

"Doug Feith is the f.....g stupidest guy on the face of the earth"

General Tommy Franks

"Seldom in my life have I met a dumber man."

Col. Larry Wilkerson

Not good.

Also:

Where's all this abundant evidence?

"He criticizes Bush for not defending the main rationale for invasion -- protecting Americans from a genuine threat -- and instead emphasizing the subsidiary and iffy goal of establishing democracy."

Kind of hard to defend your main rationale when its very cornerstones, WMD's and terror links, are subsequently shown to be made of cheese. What are you going to do, keep trying to sell more cheese?

No market equilibrium will provide a poor man the medication he cannot afford.
Any fossil surprising enough to convince a creationist of evolution would convince an evolutionist of creation.
