I am fully aware of the fact that Hezbollah has a large and well-funded humanitarian wing that feeds the children/builds homes/generally saves everybody in the region.

But it's also the organisation that sends rockets over to Israel, killing civilians there. So whatever good they do for the Arabs, none of it makes up for their murderous actions against Israelis.

Hezbollah would like to achieve the same status as Hamas I would think although I think they wield as much if not more power already.

The only answer for peace is occupation.
And not by the same old UN troops.
I call for a PLA division or two, paid for by the UN, to occupy southern Lebanon. the Golan Heights, the West Bank and the Gaza strip for at least 25 years.
Any suicide bombers caught n the attempt are flogged to death on live television.
Any caught bringing arms into the region is imprisoned for life, no exceptions.
Do that for a little while and we can make the Holy Land a safe tourist attraction and if the locals can learn to read a Disney manual then they can have jobs too.
But no more money just pissed away on a group of people that will not and probably can not find a way to live peacefully together.

Alternatively, some years ago I saw a joke map called " ethniclashistan " whereby all the feuding clans would be penned together inside Israel and allowed to reduce each other to savagery while the rest of the world moves on.

Something has to be done about the region because it provides a constant source o violence that has never stopped growing.
First it was some planes and then the Olympics, now it's daily bombings and WTC attacks.
It all comes from the same small group of disaffected religious wackos.

Maybe the PLA plan needs some more teeth.
Organize a battalion of pushtuns, run them through SEAL training, and then have them hunt down the terrorist leaders.
The UN or responsible nations, not always the same thing, can agree to a 250-500 person hit list, allow the Pushtun Brigade free access across borders and monitor their activities.
2-5 years later all the religious wackos are dead, the PB is down to about a company and we can begin to plan Disney @ Galilee.
