Theres however a very fundamental difference between Israel and Hezbollah, Israel is a country - Hezbollah isn't.
Damn right. Israel is a country defending itself, Hezbollah is a known terrorist organisation bent on destroying Israel.

Israel made a terrible mistake when it decided to annex the territories it won in the six-day war and has been dealing with the consequences, aggravated by the displacement of the Palestinian people, ever since: it's main focus is defense and survival, it has to spend a vast amount of its budget on merely keeping itself alive. But we must not forget that it was Israel's Arab neighbours, led by Egypt, who effectively started the war by amassing armor and hundreds of thousands of troops along its borders and calling for all Arab nations to attack Israel.

The Jewish nation has every right to defend itself, as its very survival is at stake. Hezbollah is the band of murderers, not Israel. If Iran chooses to threaten the Israeli nation, its President calling for it to be "wiped off the face of the Earth", then how can anybody disagree with Israel's concerns? Any informed person knows that Syria supports Hezbollah with weapons, troops and know-how. Yet when the IAF decides to target arms shipments from Iran to the Hezbollah in Syria, people scream bloody murder? That strikes me as utterly ridiculous.

Oh come on, you surely must be smarter than that. For one reason or another some people simply can not leave. So the logic of "we told them to "GTFO" so we are free of any responsibility" is lacking.

As far as the military is concerned a courtesy call is playing nice and it is not their problem if you are not able to leave, they will just say, you could have walked or rolled quite a few miles in 24hrs. lol

When you are facing a credible aggressor. Someone you know WILL act on his/her word... Then you should act on it. If I tell you that I will kick you in the junk... and then do it, then warn your friend, and do it to him, then tell your other friend, and do it to him... By the time I reach your next friend, I'm fairly sure he'd take measures to protect his junk or just move out of the way.

Reality is what we take to be true. What we take to be true is what we believe. What we believe is based upon our perceptions. What we perceive depends upon what we look for. What we look for depends on what we think. What we think depends on what we perceive. What we perceive determines what we believe. What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality.

In that case, it would give the residents even more incentive to haul ass, wouldn't it?

Logically yes. However life in these places isnt exactly logical. I guess one has to see it himself to even begin to understand it.

There are known stories of Hezbollah not allowing villagers to leave their home at southern Lebanon during that war, it was even at the news of I recall - they showed a video of it.
Hezbollah sadly does not care for Lebanese interests, they care for Iranian interests.

EDIT: I couldn't find that video, but this is the closest thing I found.

Wow, lets simplfy the situation then:imagine that you have 1$-10$ in your wallet, 2 children-one being baby- and a wife with you ,maybe you have never been out of the city you've born no relatives in another city/village.

Here comes the better part,: you cant go to north (Kurds hate sunnis) or south of the country(Shites hate Sunni)

there is no clean water or electiricity in other cities/towns.

Plus most of the families in middle east live together with their parents, even after they get married.Children take care of the parents if they are sick.So we can assume you have also a sick 75 year old mum with you...
