Its being worked on. Started on it today, but just for a few hours.

Looked at BF:apocolypse site and found reccomendations...
WEAPONS
LoD0 LoD1 LoD2
3500 1000 250
1P Weapons Rec. Max. Polygon count 3P Weapon
Assault Rifle 3000 40% of 1P

All I need to do is limit myself to 3K polys, or do I worry about the Tris? Also, im not familiar with LoDs, if someone can fill me in on that/how to do that..

Out of interest: What variants of the weapon are planning on making?

i would go for a normal G36 and a G36/AG36. A G36K (not a G36KV (former G36KE) as seen in BF2SF) or a G36C with reddot could be added later for the specops.
as keeping it realistic, the bundeswehr will not get a G36 with ironsights, only as fast solution i would give them the bf2v G36C for the SF because we do use it, also i doub that any german soldier ever got one without reddot or optics

He hits the nail on the head if everything goes to plan, the Germans will be able to use both red dot and their scopes.

Precisely Maxfragg.

I am looking at doing the German spec ops a little bit differently though. I've already said that I would like them to have ghillie suits and perhaps a silenced main weapon with limited ammo so they would be used more stealthily. Although I was thinking an HK416, that would require a new model. I suppose the G36C w/ silencer and M68 would be the best choice.

Hk416 is not used by any german forces man...and i personally dont think the ghille suit will work well since it does not really help them blend it and and silencer would work and i would rather keep them in line with the other factions, besides the scope.

The source I was looking at said that it was used in small numbers, but whatever, the G36C will work better anyway.
