Oh, that's nice of you all, I'm sort of used to the other BF2 mod teams where it's like their mod is Area 51.

*Blink* And the USMC is currently engaged in operations in China?

As for mapping, the team have got no aversion at all to anyone mapping for PR. There's absolutely no guarantee that your work would get included mind you, but you're welcome to map away and share maps within the community even if they weren't adopted for official inclusion.

I already know that it's a guess as far as if my maps will get in or not, I really do to use up my free time and because I got all kinds of ideas for maps in my head. And I guess I could do fake stuff...?
But, I'm actually working on a Mountain Kosovo map with marcoelnk, so I'm pretty ok.

Re: I'm willing to map

Having been around here for way too long and see a ton of maps come and go, my advice would be:
  • Keep it simple - gimmicky ideas (like airdrops in, for example) are fun but loose their appeal the 50th time you play them.
  • Keep it looking realistic - Calling something a city when it's only four houses just makes things look daft
  • Keep it interesting - make it a good looking map that people will want to crawl all over and discover everything on. Don't do the vBF2 mistake of having three or four key areas of interest and then neglect the rest of the map.

And most importantly - enjoy being creative with it

Yeah, I agree with your pointers there. I just don't really usually know what to do when it comes to putting lots of little random areas because BF2 has so few model buildings, but I'm hoping that will change with PR.

maybe make a map only of city fighting. Maybe somewhat like street but like EJOD size.

Sorry, that's not me, I personally despise CQB. I love fighting in the woods, and Kosovo and Eastern Europe don't really have dense cities except in the Westernized zones.

Just a question since we're talking mapping, in PR, are all the buildings vehicles? (If not, how do they have destroyed and ok states?)

I did have a WIP, but marcoelnk didn't like it because he wanted it to be a mountain map. So, I'm waiting for him to give me a heightmap to work with.
