[Sounds] Leopard2 A6 sounds [WIP]

Hi guys,

here is a small teaser for the sounds I'll be using (or trying to use) for the Leopard2 A6 model in the German mod.

I already have two favourites:

YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

and this one

YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

hehe....

I downloaded a total of 15 (incl. these two) videos and will take them to my small studio to work on them. Wish me luck. I hope, some of them are usable/pimpable!

Pimp my leopard muahaha with your host s1mmel

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Well, erm yes and no.... sure I know a lot about sound. But some of the videos might be good enough.

The white noise can easily be filtered out esp. with sounds which don'T need the upmost frequencies. I got some tools so I might be able to fix it, at least I hope so.

I have no other source, so this is the way I'm trying to do this.

Mainly I'll try to use a spectrum analyzer first to see where the main part of the frequencies are and where the disturbing frequencies are. Then I'll try to use the EQ to highten the good ones and/or lower the bad ones.
If this process succeeds I'll try to use a compressor or multipressor. After that I'll use a small effect on them.

You know I'd love to take my AT4033 (which is capable to record a jet) and go out in the field, but I don't have a transportable good quality amp and also no source where I could go to. There ain't much in Düsseldorf.

Viel Gluck! (Good luck!)
It's not easy to get sounds from some german vehicles (If you're not part of the bundeswehr of course )
Hopefully you succed in getting a and realistic sounds for the Leopard

The first video is just "geil"

Whats OPK? Could you please explain that in detail?

BTW, Rhino's moaning has worked. Maybe, but only maybe I can get stuff from the Bundeswehr. I simply called them up. They complained that they weren't allowed to give away material to private ppl by law, only to the press. So I called a friend who has a friend who has a press badge.

So keep your fingers crossed, if we are lucky we might get good material directly from the source, but this would be to good to be true. I doubt it until I hold it in my own hands.

As I said before keep your fingers crossed.

Operation Peacekeeper is where we got the Leopard 2A6 and Wolf from. I was planning on using the sounds from that mod, but was to see what you could do with sounds effects.

Is it legal to use material from other mods?

OPK and PR are both part of the Black Sand Studios.
Mods in the BSS share assets, knowledge and whatever to a certain extent.
