What's with the sound?
Hi guys,
been in touch with marcoelnk lately and I'd like to contribute too. As I have a (well lets say midranged equipped) Audio Studio I could help out with a few things. There are still some open questions on my side and maybe some of the folks here know an answer or can give their opinion to the questions. What's with the sound of vehicles? marcoelnk asked me if I could provide sound from a leopard or stuff like that. Well that ain't easy, because my booth ain't big enough to fit a Leo in it, ahaha. So my suggestion is to get it elsewhere, or even sounds from other tanks as long as they are "authentic" in form of good to listen to. Would that be okay for you? If so I could just walk through my DVD's and cut out some tank and car material and work on it (make it fat and so on). If this isn't okay with you, does anybody have an Url or a phone number or else in Germany where I could get such sounds? Maybe an open sound library from the Bundeswehr/Heer or German television (like WDR or so?)? If you do, send me a PM. What's with the voice sounds? Here I can do "a little bit more". If you don't like the official BF2 voices (I don't like 'em at all), I could easily create new ones in my studio. We got a $$$$ AMP and Microphone and I got about 3-6 Rappers @ hand who would do such a job for me in a few weekend shifts for free (and no they don't rap the stuff ^^ xD ). Aaah just imagine the commander says "Fuchs eins, Fuchs eins" when the JDAM is going down *lolz*. What's with the gunz? Do we have all the sounds we need? If so, should I "rework" them a little bit. I remember the G36 sound to be a little bit "quiet". I could easily pep them up (also with some small effects like small room, hall, reverb e.g.). Likewise if not I'd have to get them somewhere. What's with the copyright? Normally, if I take out a small sound part of tank from a movie this shouldn't lead to any problems, or do you think different? (Just wanted to mention that!). Gimme some feet back |

Hey,
Its good to have someone working on new sounds effects. I know the MG4 and MG3 are going to need some sounds effects when firing and etc. The Leopard 2A6 and voice effects could use new sound effects, improvement are always welcome. Do you have xfire or msn? That way, we will be able to keep in contact easily. |

I have no idea how sounds are actually made in PR or where the DEVs get them from but i think you'll be the one who is responsible for the sound
perhaps ask a DEV how they get sounds and stuff anyway...thanks for your help ! |

I use Skype Xfire tends to crash on my PC and msn opens way too many ports, I don't wanna use it anymore. Skype is encrypted, I'd like to have some privacy But you can put me on ur msn list, try mc_simmel@hotmail.com, well at least you can send me some emails to this address, I doubt that you'll see me online. I already have a question. Could you plz. tell me some of the [DEV]s who might know about integrating sounds? I might have some sounds for the Leo ready in about, hmh, let's give it two weeks. I found very good and useful sound material on youtube I can work with. I'll download the stuff and take it with me to my studio and start working on it (start filtering out the white noise, pump up the lows and lower mids, and so on). But before I can do that, I still have some open questions, which surely would be best addressed to someone who already worked on sounds. If you think you can help me with my questions, well let me know I'll write them down. Otherwise a name would be really appreciated, as I don't know the structure of the PR-Developers right now. Thx in advance, [O.B.I]Fr0nt-Schwein or s1mmel (whutevr!)

Anyone who can answer some of them is also welcome to do so. The faster I get answers the quicker I can start working on the LEO
