Would be better with i guess. Last but not least for balancing, cause then its just like the other grenades - a "real" frag grenade.
At least thats what i figured. |

Sure we want it, because you already did it with fragmentation jacket just add some lines on it and its nearly done.
Btw. The DM51 without fragmentation jacket is normal just used in room fights were an explosion without the fragmentation can kill somebody. |

Don't know about the lines... I think it would be better to add these by skinning - but as I said, this is my first 'real' model, so I don't have any experience at all

I think the lines should be modelled, it will look better with them, the limit for the 1stP grenade model should be about 1500-2000 tris, dont make small parts of the model very detailed, find the right balance

That sure is a lot of tris for a grenade, it has more triangles than any of my weapons (and thans including a LMG and weapon with rails). A good idea would be to look at the insurgents grenade the DEVs made (F1 I think its called), it is a fragmentation grenade as well.
the grenade itself had waaay more sides that needed, so does the handle, and the fragmentation lines are too smooth too. I would maybe do them from boxes and maybe chamfer the edges if nessercary. The top part is supposed to look like a box but I think you have accidentally dragged a vertex or something cause it looks a bit wierd now. |

Much better. The grenade also looks better now. If the smooth groups were removed from the top of the grenade and on the handle, it will look better I think.
