These rock-statics can, if placed correctly, be used to simulate caves without creating a new static. But its difficult to let that look good.

yeah its a pity that the bf2 engine doesnt support caves and tunnels...there are some tricks to do them but they dont always look good

I obeserved this thread a long time ago...^^ So some words.
I think you will have to do a lot of work. Creating a new army is bi pakcage of work.

The OPK Team is small atm, many of us havenīt the time to create all teh things that we want to have.

And i donīt know how the team will decide about sharing content.

@about the Tiger helcopter: germany bought 80 helicopter with the "UHT"-specifications. The RMK30 version isnīt planned so far. And thatīs not the on with the cannon under the nose. We already dicussed this for OPK too. But we have to complete other projects first.

Mainproblem will be to get a good working codingcrew.

I believe that some here donīt really know how much work it will be...

Hello osis,

We do know that there's much work to do, but as we're planing to keep the priority on infantry-based maps at the beginning i dont think we'll need much coding (i dont know much about it but i suppose it depends ont the main mod (PR), as it will just be a new faction...).And i think as soon as we have some promising WIPs the interest will rise and as there are some very experiencede DEVs around here we might get help from then...
afaik we now have the g36 , 1 or 2 maps, and the reskinning of the usmc models in work which is a good start...
still i must admit that we can use any help we can get and would be very pleased if you guys from OPK (i really like your mod ) could give us advice or best the leopard 2A6 model (as you already gave it to the canadians).
one thing you might perhaps be able to answer for me : dont you guys from BSS work together? it more seems like you're enemies ... i think as some mods have very good potential but only few them cause of new games coming out and the stupid EA stats system , mods should help each other and stick together more close...

You gotta understand Osis. PR with the Bundeswehr will cost OPK players, and they already have only very few (And yes, i'll play OPK again when I've a bit more free time osis! :P).

PR is huge, and a german army, and then even european maps... Thats what OPK had, if PR uses it too OPK WILL lose players, so i really understand Osis.

First off, I want to make it entirely clear that the two mods will be in no way the same and will play entirely differently. I don't want this to seem at all a threat to OPK as you guys have done some awesome work and created one hell of a mod.

In regards to the planning: I understand all to well what goes into these mods and as you can see in my design plan, I have done my best to reflect realism while keeping the difficult work well within the capabilities of the community modders. Vehicles I know are notoriously difficult and I have decided in this regard to keep the mod infantry based until further notice, however simple reskins of existing models may be able to solve this problem.

In summation, I don't want to create any competition for players between the two mods, merely give the PR players a little more variety (and to give my managing skills a bit of a challenge). I hope that we haven't gotten off on the wrong foot and here's to getting this mod off the ground!

I didn't even notice this post and I just want to say that those players that would be swayed off of OPK to this community mod based purely upon the inclusion of the German Army would not be loyal players at all and would most likely be mod hoppers anyway. Look, OPK is a mod based purely along Germany against the Serbians that has been fully fleshed out, where as this mod is going to be based upon infantry and perhaps light vehicles in a Afghanistan setting with at most a few maps and focused upon realism first and foremost. Needless to say, these mods are on an entirely different playing field.

The next person to say that this is going to hurt the guys over at the OPK mod is getting bitch slapped.

Edit: I would like to let you know that I am reformatting my computer soon so I wont be ready to even attempt the model until I get set up again. Ill let you know when I start.
