Is the suppression effect on for other players then me anymore? Played as a insurgent on the mestia map yesterday and often I found the enemy before he saw me. When opening fire (I have a really hard time hitting stuff with their weapons) the enemy just turned around, aimed and hit me in the head!!
This fact made me ask my squad members via voIP if the knew anything about whats up, and they told me that there are ways to turn the suppression effect off. This really sucks.....that some children and retards turn it off and by that makes it harder for me to shot them!! I donīt want to go down that path, and do changes here and there just to play a game! |

yes I can confirm what GasseG said...
imho this just sucks in addition to that with the new patch some kids shoot you easily with one shot (the new sucky damage system -.-) just one in the earth before you, youre blind and then one in the chest... oh wonderful... black screen... 30 seconds internet browsing... holy crap I played daily last week and was killed like that for 10 times... also, this effect make people "graphically lag" (5 frames per second) on older (2005) machines |

I suggest any person caught with their suppression affect turned off, is reported to the admins/owners of all the PR server, so have the option to ban them and ensure their server is free of what, essentially are hackers/cheats.

1 Grab a SAW
2 Find the highest hill/building around a flag 3 Move there, stay there, Spot, call out, attack marker... SAW! 4 For god sake go from high ground to high ground! NOT bottom of a valley to open field to gully! |

Meaning we have several ways to prevent it and one of them is a sever side cheat-check that will be made within a few days. | |

-The only thing I'd criticize is the duration, it should be over within a second max. This way suppression is more realistic as you need to keep firing at them and it more accurately simulates suppression. And the 10-20m activation is also a welcome addition.

Agree! Only bursts of fire will keep the effect at play. Makes it a bit harder for the one who starts the shooting to aim carefully (relying on the suppression entirely) and hit on the second or third shot.

I got a chance to experience the effect for the first time yesterday and all i can say is WOW!! It works so well and i love getting up and shooting and knowing that even if i dont hit him, i am stopping him from hitting me or my team.
I only wish that it didnt last so long. Say take away like a nice second or 2 from the effect. I ask because in my short time using it i found that people are using it with a "flash grenade" effect. They shoot a little bit and then they know im suppressed so they just run up on me while im stumbling around like a redneck at a tailgate party. Thats very annoying. |

Re: v0.75 - Your opinions on the new suppression effect
To bad BF2 engine doesn't support lean left/right. If so we wouldn't need the suppression effect. As precaution would be used with the lean. You stand in a corner, you lean out and shoot, you get shot at you lean back to your original position.
