Kit Limiting System

First of all, I want to make it clear that I like the kit limiting system as it stands now. However... I'm also aware that some squads are specialized (i.e. they are suited for a specific role in battle). I was wondering if it would be possible to allow squads to take more than 1 of all but specialized limited kits? For example, I know that some squads will act as mobile machine gun nests, and thus have almost everyone carrying around LMGs. Also, I'm aware that many U.S. Coalition forces have replaced Riflemen with Grenadiers entirely in many of their squads.

In addition, I find it strange that squads will be outfitted accordingly:

1) Sniper
2) Automatic Rifleman
3) Special Forces
4) Grenadier
5) Heavy AT
6) Pilot

While I can appreciate the diversity that the kit limiting system can bring to a squad, I think that the limit shouldn't be on a 1-Limited-Kit-Per-Squad basis, but rather, only a certain percentage of the squad can have Limited Kits (with exceptions appearing where appropriate). For example, 2/3 of the squad can request Limited Kits, and the rest are stuck with Unlimited Kits, would be a nice number (maybe even 1/2 if you're feeling particularly stingy :P). Alternatively, it could be a set number within the squad, such as a maximum of 3 to 4 Limited Kits at any one time. The reason I say this is because often times, tactics requires the use of teamwork in a slightly different way than the current build of PR allows. We can have it so that every squad has a bit of everything to serve their purposes, but we can't have specialized Grenadier Squads or Automatic Rifleman Specialist crews like in some of the more epic battles I've witnessed even in the Tournament, we have to coordinate infantrymen from different squads to work together via a series of complicated comms protocols if we want to have an All-Rifleman AT squad or an All-Marksman squad. I know you've got your own ideas about this, and they've certainly been successful so far, but I just thought I'd bring this up to you guys and see what you thought.

Please, think of the 3 to 4 grenadiers in a single squad that could be launching collective volleys of grenades at scurrying, invading forces 200m away from their position right now!

Sounds like a good idea!

Some of my favorite quotes...
"I read about an Eskimo hunter who asked the local missionary priest, 'If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?' 'No,' said the priest, 'not if you did not know.' 'Then why,' asked the Eskimo earnestly, 'did you tell me?'" ~Annie Dillard
"Democracy is four wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch." ~Ambrose Bierce

You make it sound as if being "stuck" with spawnable kits is a bad thing.

**laughs** No, I don't have a problem being "stuck" as a Medic :P hell, without the Medic class, I wouldn't even have a BASIS for suggesting that all infantrymen in PR (as well as BF2 in general) are really ZOMBIES!!!!!!!

... **cough**ANYWAY...

As turnpipe says, I just find it difficult to be without all the necessary tools Granted, the last thing I want is for people to start bickering over who gets to specialize in what kit, but by the same token, I'd like to be able to see a squad or two of Riflemen charge forward into enemy lines while a squad of 4 or 5 Automatic Riflemen unloads thousands of bullets into anything in front of them that isn't friendly, like in real warfare ^ ^ besides, it's hard enough getting people to work together in the public games, so I thought it might make it easier by allowing squads to specialize (you have no idea how frustrating it is to go "Someone blow up the tank!" and find out the only L-AT guy in sight is grabbing the LMG kit he originally wanted--but couldn't get because someone else in his squad grabbed an LMG kit first--off of some poor, blown-to-bits Saudi).

Besides, it also helps to organize public players based on common interests and/or tactics and goals. Let's face it, joining a squad that has 3 Rifleman AT and 2 Engineers in it makes it pretty obvious that they're not Anti-Infantry. Unless they're all clones of the same guy who tried to charge an enemy bunker with the ONLY SNIPER KIT we had left on our team. Then all bets are off, because he'd completely lost his marbles.
