CR2: The uber-tank?
I've done a little armor testing on a LAN server, Kufrah OI, T90 vs. CR2(s).
Now all 3 MBTs from BF2 ( T90, M1A1 and Type 98 ) take exactly 2 Sabot shots to the top of the turret, side armor, back armor and engine. Front usually takes 4+. Now while C2 takes 2 shots to the exposed engine (if turret is facing 12 o'clock, it covers the top of it) and side armor, it takes 3 shots to the turret (side) and 4 to the front (sloped armor next to the gun) and it takes exactly 4 shots as well to the back. Now this puzzles me, as other 3 tanks take 2 shots and the first one usually puts them smoking or disables them, if they already took some damage (ie. terrain, light AT..), but the C2 backside can take twice as that. So is this either intended due being realistic (?), are the Devs planning to make tanks similar to r/l instead of mirror balancing in the future or was the C2 intentionally made slightly "uber"? (no offence intended) |

IMO tanks shoots should be a lot more powerfull, usualy 2 shots to destroy one to the front , and 1 shot to sides/back .

Those aren't good results. I don't know about reducing the amount of damage tanks can take, but certainly all the MBTs should perform similarly.

Before anyone gets into an e-penis contest about thier nation's tank's capabilites, make with the reputable sources before making such statements. Thank you.
Anyway, interesting results. When I tested it on Al Kufrah the Challenger 2 could only take 3 to the front. |

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

I can't speak for rough ground, but while flying a UH-1H at Fort Hood when M-1s were being introduced to the 1st Cav, one passed me on a tank trail and I was flying at a little over 60 knots. I was shocked at how fast they were. These tanks were not stock in that most of them had the speed govenors disconnected at that time. Also watched them drag racing an M-1 vs an M-60 on Motor Pool Road

Just looking at the sheer size of the thing, I always got the impression that it was meant to be a big honkin' badass, but that's just me. I personally think the tanks shouldn't be nearly as mirror balanced as they are now, but again, that's just me.

followed by the T90 at 65 km/h on road then the M1 at 67.72 km/h on road, 48.3 km/h off and then the Type 99 clocks at a whopping 80 km/h on road, 60 km/h off. | |
