I frigging love it.

Imho when setting RPs a 300-500 metre jog top a mission location isnt asking too much. when things go really bad you have a few Ks to run, incentive? put down RPs and bunkers and you wont have to run so far, it isnt that far anyhow, an APC makes life pleasant but running a kilometre isnt too difficult

love it, makes you create a rally with your squad and also makes you think twice when you are running into the open. i think it is great, deff increased teamwork.

No. That non-firefight time should be spend manouvering and preparing defenses, not running from the main base to the frontline.

Thats called running to the front lines. And if you are going to trek an unusually long distance that means that you're not laying down firebases and rp's appropriately since Firebases spawn trucks.

And sides on the realism side, ask any person who has served. Throughout their service in the army they arent fast roping and doing leet CQB. They are either marching, patrolling, or just waiting. PR catches that. Long moments of boredom punctuated by compressed seconds of terror.

This isnt UT2008. Chins up dev. I am very happy with 0.7

No. I'm saying that playing UT2008 would be more catering to that sort of 'drop in the middle of a fight' taste

The game is FAR FAR less spammy, there are more battlelines and squad cohesion. There is an incredible amount of motivation to build rallys, bunkers and firebases. Once people get an understanding of this then it'll be much better. If you fail to work together then you fail, which isn't much fun. This new style has introduced some depth to the game so naturally it takes some time for things to adapt/adjust. It's definitely nice to know that killing a guy means I've done some realatively productive and dont expect him to be coming back at me from 5 different possible locations 40 seconds later...very nice. When you kill a squad it now feels like you've repelled them or pushed them back so to speak instead.

no SL spawn really sucks when you have barely any teamwork, but it makes gameplay amazing when you've got people working together and planning ahead. It's for the better IMO, and I'm one of those people you see whining a lot about everything, so when I come to terms with such a feature, it really means something xD
