I know it was some work to do that Jay and whomever tested it - but thanks - I'm sure when I get my new sound card, jack up the volume with EAX and creative X-FI on im going to be DROOLING all day long
I think PR will have it better, iirc arma sounded awful, a tank would vanish behind a wooden building then it would sound like it was right next to you when it came round the other side. as for the guns, they sound like BB guns, not much improoved even with the CSM sound mod

PR RULES!

Have the vehilces been given improoved distance sounds aswell?

Just played these to my dad, he says the 7.52 and the 50.cal definately sound best the 5.56 is good and the 9mm is the least accurate sound.

With 30 years army experiance + being an ex weapons instructor I'd say that was a pretty good opinion

I was already amazed at seeing the new footage of the JDAM airstrike, and now we have these great sound effects as well. You guys blow me away with every new release. This is the only game that I ever get genuinely excited about when I hear that a new release is coming.

Thanks for all your efforts

i thinks its totally amazing how you got the guns to sound different at a distance just like in real life. for example, if anyone has seen any recent war videos you know that AK47s being fired from a distance make a popping crackly sound kinda like those bubble wrap things being stepped on. you guys modelled that perfectly. and the 50 cal makes that deep rumble sound just like IRL. did you guys sample distant gun sounds for this, or do the existing sounds just sound right in game?

the m249 doesnt sound so "popping" in the vid as some other guns do,
will that be changed or stay like that?
i'm very very happy about the new distant sounds except the m249saw,
it sounds like close just a bit quiter, is that in real life the fact?

Awesome work! But I must admit, Im still not a very big fan of the SAW sound. It still sounds wayy to mechanical for a machine gun. At the 400m range, the SAW sound sounded the way its always sounded. Can we get it to be more muffled? Otherwise, excellent work. Can't wait to play it.

As I said it is amazing but if anything creepinshadow is right, the SAW seems to just get a bit quieter while the other weapons turn to more of a echoey pop.

This is truly nice! I Love it.. when 0.6 came out i thought the sound of gunfire was worse than 0.5 and the supersonic crack was less frequently heard.. but this.. this is.. yeah.. AWESOME!

yeah i totally agree about the m249, not to critisize the devs as this still really awesome. but does a real m249 sound like that?
