Default Wanda Shan Map Update

Another map update for v1.4; this time Wanda Shan received some much needed adjustments.

Firstly, to address the issue of rubber banding/server lag the forest areas now use Saaremaa cluster trees, reducing the total number of trees that need to be loaded from ~45 000 to below 20 000, bringing it in line with other forest-heavy maps. Hopefully this will greatly reduce the lag experienced on this map.

Secondly, an overall cosmetic update to the map has been made.

Gameplay has also been changed with new gamemode layers, flag layouts and asset loadouts.

After going through past feedback and with new tank armor changes in store for v1.4, AAS Standard layout has been changed to the rather mirrored but balanced asset loadout featuring ZSL-92 APC, Type 86 IFV, Z-9 light transport helicopter and Mi-17 medium transport helicopter on Chinese side while German side features Puma APC and IFV, Bell UH-1D light transport helicopter and NH-90 medium transport helicopter along with other vehicles.




AAS Alternative adds two ZTZ-99 and two Leopard 2A6 along with a Z-9WA Haitun HF-25 as Chinese light attack helicopter to the existing mix.


AAS Infantry features four German Fuchs APCs versus three Chinese FAVs as the main combat vehicles in the field along with other unarmed transport vehicles.


Vehicle Warfare and Command and Control are now supported on this map with CnC asset loadout mirroring AAS Standard.



Map is also Co-Op supported featuring a slightly larger playable area for bots and an open combat zone.


Lastly, Skirmish. Featuring the existing layout as alternative...


...and possibly the smallest Skirmish layout in PR.


Intended for very small matches (1v1 anyone?), running this layout with a large amount of players would not be recommended.

CAS chopper verses nothing.... Really? After the mess that vadso city has become, you want to do it again.

Sure The Z9 is a pretty shitty chopper in the overall ranking of CAS Choppers, its still going to be a shit show.

If you want to put CAS on the map, Do a tiger vs z10. Or don't do CAS at all.

Or if you do a CAS Chopper, give the opposition a counter measure. The Germans sadly don't have one so give the Germans the Tiger, and the Chinese receive an AAV.

Nice update! May be is better the STD layout be a ALT, and the ALT layout be STD.

Challenge accepted.

Overall looks nice, though AAS alt has me worried, ZTZ us for sure a better tank, and with an attack heli, it could be messy for Germans.

No longer after the update. ATGMs will do squat against frontal armour and the Leopard 2 reloads faster and is a noticeably more nimble vehicle. In the end the majority of engagements will be won by the one to hand out the first shot(considering he hits), so I don't think there are going to be many problems.

Well, iirc they didn't list out damage done by atgm from tanks, so we will have to see what they adjust that too.
