Pictures from the army

For whoever is interested, I was given a M16A1 long version - after allot of "balagan"[huge mess] I managed to get a M16A1 short version that is usually officers only and is actually in good shape and doesn't jam every 5th shot.
These M16A1 have automatic mode.
Now here are the pictures from the base and allot of pictures of the weapon:

Making it should be rather quick if you use a M16 as baseline, making the barrel short by 1/2 and making a different stock.
The stock closed is 2/3 size of regular m16 stock, when its opened its same size as regular m16 stock, the gun's "body" is exactly the same - I can provide closeup pictures if your interested:
The main advantages of the short "Mekotzrar" is that its light, 1.7kg compared to 3kg - which can't be represented ingame sadly.
The disadvantages is that it has far less accuracy then a regular M16, and according to a guy I spent 6 hours guarding with at main gate it has less punch.

I don't think it will fit, unless we make two types of the IDF army as it is:
Sadir - regular
Miluim - reserve

The Sadir guys get all the new stuff like tavor and acogs etc, Miluim usually get shafted and gets older gear.
That could be represented ingame by map, one map uses Sadir army and one Miluim...but thats another concept to develop after we're done with all the stuff that are going on now

LOL, there I was in max making "concept" using vbf2 m4/m16 to demonstrate the difference and compare it to my memory/rl pictures and you got it all ready to go

Go for it , I'll start working on the reserve army concept as in real life its really two classes within the army, I have a idea in mind - map specific as per real, regular army[sadir] should be in maps that are low intensity conflict ie vs hamas, and large scale combat versus regular army such as mec will have reserve[miluim] in it.

The idea behind it is when theres a big war such as last summer's second lebanon war, reservists are called in to support the regular army and theres a huge gear difference between the two.

Sure? How about a mix of the two? I.e. officers with Colt Commandos, grunts with Tavors and so on. Although the officer using something outdated would be a bit weird. How about changing it around like you do with the engineers' shotguns/rifles?

Do you know how to texture and stuff? 'Cause, to be honest, I don't. Never really had the time to learn it.

Officers in the IDF don't really get the best weapon, their weapon are to symbolize their status in the army.

What I had in mind was more map specific, some maps will get fully tavorized IDF and some maps will get "half-half" tavor-m16 maps to represent the reservists, low intensity maps will get tavor coming out of every hole and large scale combat will be combination of both, I know how to do it and it will take about 15 minutes to do it for the entire army - just need the weapons.
If you want to continue with this concept you'll have to make a regular-long M16A1 out of your Commando version as well as not everyone will have the short version

I was under the impression that the army used the M16A2 and M4's.. I thought the M16A1 was only for training purposes nowadays...
