Yes, we have permission to use it - I tried separating the turret from the driver but I failed horribly, I'll have another go at it soon enough if there is no other option.

You really need the 3D model? Is it just for separating the positions? Or for something else?

Because I'm pretty sure you can separate the positions without tweaking any 3D file, like we did with all vanilla tanks.

I asked in bfeditor on how do to that, I was told that we need the 3ds to separate it if its a custom model.
Back then I was really inexperienced with the editor - now that I got a better understanding on how it works after coding the Golan I'll have another go, it is of course ten times easier to do it in the 3ds file then in the editor.

e-Gor told me that I'm right in my affirmation above, and unless something is really screwed in the custom model, it should work making the two separate positions without the 3d files.

He also told me that it's not possible to do it using the editor, you need to tweak directly in the text files. So use our other tanks as reference and have a go at it.

You need to edit the con file, which the editor cannot do.

Here's the basics of how to do it:

Open the .con in your favourite text editor. Create a new PCO for the gunner position, and addTemplate it to the driver PCO. Move the OT.addTemplate turret line (and any others as appropriate) from the driver PCO to the gunner PCO. That's got the 2 positions created, so you can then edit them to behave as you want in the .tweak or in the editor.

This is a call for a volunteer to reskin the Merkava MK4, if you are interested please contact me via PM or Xfire[ZZEZ] and I will send you the files, in the next post there will be reference pictures, if you find better reference pictures post em there.

I am currently coding the Merkava MK4 and the two variants.
