M14
Well in my last post, some people seemed to agree with giving the engineers the M14 Rifle. For you soliders who don't know what an M14 is, it is a semi-automatic 10 or 20 shot rifle, that also has been modified to the M21 and M25 Sniper rifles. I think that engineers should be outfitted with the 10 round clip, with the normal iron sights. It would be an effective weapon, but not one that could really be abused. What do you think? (M14 is obviously an American addition only!)

somone needs the shotgun, it makes the enginner also rely on his team mates to take out long range targets but his shotty is very good at close combat (thou the shotgun dose need some sort of iron sights)

Yes, but in most cases, take out the enemy if you can at longer range, and the M14 does pack a punch at close range too. Give the shotgun as a secondary choise, or give it to anti tank or something.

shotty, shotty. THe M14 is soo old man, get with the times. It is heavy as well. I think they should have some small PDW or Shotty. THingy is right - it is the only class that really could have one.

Red neck. Engineers wouldn't be using an M14. Engineers are essentially infantry and will therefor be using the same kind of kit.
If an M14 is to be implemented, it will probably as a Marksman weapon. But thats only if the Devs see it as a good addition. |

The SEALS, Marine Recon, Special Forces, etc. all use the M14 because it is still a good weapon just like the 1911. And if you give engineers a long range weapon, they will just fight instead of repair and do their jobs. We don't want them to get involved in the fight and have an advantage for long range which is the opposite of what they are suppose to do.

I dont like the idea of giving them an m14, if you gave them a long range weapon they would just fight like normal infantry, and do not rapair tanks and stuff

The M14 w\sights is not that much of an "uber" weapon. It takes skill to be used, so they would act just as their role suggests, but will have a good weapon to defend themselves.
