More Transport
I am getting sick and tired of those times when you JUST need a humvee, yet the only thing in the base is a tank/apc. Or you spawn on the carrier only to realize that all the choppers are busy, dead or occupied.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd like to see the amount of Commander trucks, unnecessary vehicles etc. reduced, and transport vehicles (infantry trucks, transport helicopters) be greatly increased for use. There are a countless number of times I've wished Kashan had normal trucks. I've found that the most effective teams I've played on had an infantry squad (either I made or was in, or another group played infantry) but to get transport, they have to have a Blackhawk to come in for extraction or have an APC pick up the squad, which is about as likely to happen as EA giving BF2 players a patch. Instead, create a few infantry vehicles for both/either side on a map, and if applicable, a proper amount of air transport vehicles (Air transport should be used carefully, but should still be a viable option to be used in safe territory). This would allow for more people to be IN the battle rather than sitting at base for the helicopter to respawn, when instead there would be 4 humvees or something ready for use in the base. |

Re: More Transport
This is why Officers should have the responsibility of issuing vehicles when they're needed, instead of the current spawning of vehicles so that anyone can waste them on a whim.

It's not like it's going to happen all the time. But once in a blue moon, you'll get lucky. (I for one spend as much time as I can either on foot or in a blackhawk trying to transport as many people as I can to bring the fight to the flags.)

Re: More Transport
There's a limit on how many networkable objects there can be on a map. Networkable objects consist of a lot of things we use, ammo bags, rally points, commander assets, destructible buildings and vehicles, to list some.
And what's wrong with an APC? I just think more vehicles would promote more soloing. |

Re: More Transport
Did you read the part about "removing unnecessary vehicles"?
Removing all but say, 1 or 2 commander trucks (I'd say 2, just to save the commander the trouble of an idiot stealing his asset), removing an apc or 2, etc. until about a max of 4 vehicles can be used. That would be 4 squads can transport themselves with a humvee, 4 less squads stealing comm trucks, 4 less squads stealing up a single APC just so they can transport from Bunker to South Village, when they are an infantry based squad (it's also a lot harder for an infantry squad to hide an APC than a humvee). |

Re: More Transport
The problem isn't that there's not enough transport, it's people that drive and ditch.

British Landrovers are in too small of a number on: Basrah, Fools Road, etc. There's like 2 landrovers per map. And considering they only hold 3 people, that's only a single full squad with transport. Chinese Icecream trucks are in too small of a number as well. There is only 1 on Qwai, and just a few in Fools. MEC... well, they just don't seem to have a transport, and I haven't been keeping up with development enough to know if they'll be getting one soon. Let's take Kashan 32 for instance. Instead of having 6 commander trucks, take 4 away and add 4 humvees/trucks. Maybe remove some of the armor assets so more squads would play infantry and the armor squad would now become a more useful asset on Kashan; not just the bare minimum. On Qwai, the US would get 1 TOW Humvee, 2-4 Normal Humvees. The Chinese would get 3 trucks of their own. Regardless of the numbering (I'm sure gameplay on maps like Qwai could change horridly, and less trucks would be implemented so that gameplay on that map does not take a hit), there are still places where more transport would be useful.
